There’s always plenty to see and do when it comes to Maui attractions, so much so that you may find yourself running out of time! With a bit of organization, you can keep your holiday humming along and be sure to see the top attractions the island has to offer.
1. Whale Watching
Between the months of November and April, you can spot humpback whales breaching, fluking, head slapping and playing in the water. Calving season begins in late January so plan your visit accordingly if you want to see a baby whale.
2. Old Lahaina Town
An old whaling port, the town is home to several historic inns, over 40 restaurants and fine art galleries. You can take a ferry ride to the islands of Molokai and Lanai and take photographs of the over 100 year old banyan tree.
3. Haleakala National Park
The world’s largest, dormant volcano, standing almost 10,000 feet high, Haleakala offers startling views you’re sure to never see again. You can camp in the park’s headquarters or hike along the miles of trails for some of the most beautiful scenery in the world.
4. Molokini Snorkeling
A curved, collapsed crater offers the best snorkeling adventures in Hawaii. If snorkeling isn’t your thing, be sure to catch a small boat to the crater and back simply so you can take in the view.
5. North Coast
The scenic drive offers tourists views found nowhere else in the world. Driving, you’ll see ancient Hawaiin temples and be surrounded by the eerie stillness of the region.
